Retligt!

– Här försöker man bara idka lite viltvård i naturreservatet; sa räven och sneglade på två av strandängarnas alla häckande par av grågås som gått över gränsen, bokstavligt så att säga.

– Synd att de inte förstår bättre, staketet längs gränsen är ju till för att de skall ha ett visst skydd. Det är ingen ordning längre i naturen och speciellt i reservatet nuförtiden.

    1. Many times I experience more when I can stay in one and the same place for several hours. In the end, life around me doesn’t take notice of me. The sounds, especially birdsong, can often speak to me and tell me that something is happening. Like the greylag geese, who talked intensely to each other about the cheeky fox, who ventured into the nature reserve from afar without permission. Had it been a month later, when the geese have chicks, the fox would have needed a different tactic than just calmly passing the geese.

Maybe I already said this but I was always curious about Greylag geese after reading about the studies Niko Tinbergen did with them – then I got to see them up close in Iceland! 🙂 Our geese are talkers, too. I learned long ago that stopping and just listening is valuable but life seems so rushed these days – I don’t do it enough. It’s cool to see such a beautiful fox looking at those geese and the tall, white tree trunks rising above.
