  2. South America meets North America via Europe and all the pieces fit together. The photos with their different view convey the immensity of the falls – beautiful work, Hans, so well put together with the music.

    1. I was totally overwhelmed and didn’t know how to deal with all this water. Many pictures were taken with a simple travel camera during this, for me, unique visit 20 years ago. The sound and humidity could not be reproduced in a picture, but then I came across the opening phrases of one of all my old Led Zeppelin albums and now found an aging and humbler version of the frontman.

      1. Even small waterfalls have a strong effect on us so I can see why this one would be completely overwhelming. Your response really communicates the power of all that water. Many other photos of waterfalls that I have seen portray the landscape at a certain distance, like fitting it into a neat frame – especially photos where the water is smoothed with a long exposure. That technique usually takes away some of the life, for me anyway. But your photos have a feeling of immediacy, of that going out-of-bounds that you feel around a big waterfall.

    1. Tack, glad att området har ett skydd som fungerar så länge turismen drar in mer än avskogningen. Kanske var det bara en dröm, jag var mestadels ute tidigt när andra sov.
