An early autumn palette that’s a near-perfect match for what we see outside this morning. I’ve noted birch and (I think) aspen in some of your pictures… are there maple species as well?

Birch and aspen correct, maple trees do exist here and there also but not as common.

… quite a few fern species?

Here around about 4 or 5 more common, but I am not an plant expert.
