The first photo reminds me of when the US had its first major oil “crunch”. I forget which decade it was, but a lot of people in the oil business in Texas lost their jobs/companies. The question going around was: Do you know the difference between a Houston oil man and a pigeon”? ANSWER: “A pigeon can still make a deposit on a Mercedes.”
