Flykten till det okända (forts på del 3)

Musen vankade fram och tillbaka utmed öns kanter, varför visste han egentligen inte. Rådvill och orolig, samtidigt som han inte kunde lämna den bleka varelsen åt sitt öde i den stora tomheten. Varelsen skulle snart vara utlämnad åt den tröga massan som långsamt vällde fram. Det började redan skymma när han satte sig ner vid kanten.

Med huvudet sänkt i djupa funderingar såg han nåt i ögonvrån. Det blänkte till i kanten men hans ögon kunde inte uppfatta vad det var. När han skärpte blicken, frigjorde sig en mörk skugga ut över tomheten. En smådrake svepte ut med öppen käft, nästan som den kippade efter luft. Han satt helt orörlig för att draken inte skulle upptäcka honom, när en iskall våt labb tog tag i hans svans och drog honom längre in i skuggan.

Musen tordes nästan inte vända sig om men då greppet om svansen släppte sneglade han bakom sig. Han hade ännu en gång fått hjälp, men i halvdunklet var det svårt att skönja formen av sin räddare i nöden. Till sin stora förvåning uppenbarade sig en mager och nästan genomskinlig padda framför honom. Något musen aldrig sett förut heller. Han tog mod till sig och förklarade hela sin situation om sin flyktplan till det okända och varelsen i den stora tomheten som behövde hjälp.

Vi löser det sa paddan, men var beredd på att det kommer att kräva stora uppoffringar, både nu och i framtiden. När de kom fram till den bleka varelsen, bad paddan musen att sitta upp på sin rygg och lägga ut sin svans som ett roder efter dem. Paddan gled ut i tomheten, skyddad av sin transparenta kropp. Framme vid varelsen beordrade paddan musen: Sänk ner din svans, nu! I samma ögonblick bet varelsen tag i svansen och följde med i en enda rörelse upp på fast mark i det okända. Och mörkret föll över dem…..

The escape to the unknown (continued on part 3)

The mouse wandered back and forth along the edges of the island, why he did not really know. Confused and anxious, at the same time he could not leave the pale creature to its fate in the great emptiness. The creature would soon be covered by the sluggish mass that was slowly pouring out. It was already getting dark when he sat down at the edge.

With his head lowered in deep thought, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. It glistened at the edge but his eyes could not perceive what it was. As he sharpened his gaze, a dark shadow freed itself from the emptiness. A little dragon swept out with its mouth open, almost like it was gasping for air. He sat motionless so that the dragon would not spot him, when an icy wet paw grabbed his tail and pulled him further into the shadows.

The mouse hardly dared to turn around, but when the grip on the tail released, he glanced behind him. He had once again received help, but in the semi-darkness it was difficult to discern the form of his savior in distress. To his great surprise, a thin and almost transparent toad appeared in front of him. Something the mouse has never seen before either. He took courage and explained his whole situation about his escape plan to the unknown and the creature in the emptiness who needed help.

We solve it, said the toad, but be prepared that it will require great sacrifices, both now and in the future. When they reached the pale creature, the toad asked the mouse to sit on its back and lay out its tail like a rudder after them. The toad slipped into the emptiness, protected by its transparent body. Arriving at the creature, the toad ordered the mouse: Lower your tail, now! At the same moment the creature bite its tail and followed in a single movement up on solid ground in the unknown. And darkness fell upon them …..
